about

'Pacify the sun' features Rachel Holmshaw's toasty-warm vocals playfully calling out a significant other over early relationship unevenness. Sympathetic background comes from cute Antarctic sounds by Dan Luscombe on OP1, plus his transcendent electric cheekily weaving in and out like a child playing hide-and-seek around fun drums and bass of Pete Luscombe and Bill McDonald. Add in Fi's sprightly nylon acoustic and plucked violin, and it's a very lovely way to spend 5 minutes and 38 seconds of your life.

lyrics

Pacify the sun

don’t build mansions
in your eyes
don’t you take me to the skies
then leave me high and dry

don’t you plaster
us online
don’t you tell me little lies
then go and change your mind

do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do…

don’t come standing
at my door
every little piece of you
just makes me want you more

some good things
can leave you sore
sometimes it is better to be
free than half-adored

Do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do…

I get angry
I get bored
I get all these thoughts of you
messing up my flaws

I don’t like
who I become
when the roses of my heart
get ripped and torn and stung

I can’t mend
what’s come undone
just as I can’t make your love
or pacify the sun

do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do…

don’t build mansions
in your eyes
don’t you take me to the skies
then leave me high and dry

I don’t like
who I become
when the roses of my heart
get ripped and torn and stung

I can’t mend
what’s come undone
just as I can’t make your love
or pacify the sun

do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do…

don’t build mansions
in your eyes
don’t you take me to the skies
then leave me high and dry

don’t come standing
at my door
every little piece of you
just makes me want you more

I’ve drunk water
of denial
floating there like broken leaves
and wasting all my time

I can’t mend
what’s come undone
just as I can’t make your love
or pacify the sun

do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do do…
